The Electoral Support Project in Armenia

Electoral Support Project in Armenia (ESPA), funded by the European Union, Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of Sweden, and the Government of Armenia, and implemented by the UNDP, has an overall strategy to assist the Armenian authorities in holding credible, inclusive and transparent elections.

The project provided technical support for pre-term parliamentary election held in December 2018; in 2019 the project works to ensure the sustainability of the results achieved, and capacity enhancement of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia.



Voter Authentication Devices (VADs) prepared, configured and deployed

Over 4,000 VAD Operators trained, certified, and deployed in 1998 polling stations
Live streaming and recording of the voting and counting process secured by installing cameras in 1501 out of 2010 polling stations
leaflets, 1 TV Spot, 2 radio messages, 3,000 stickers, 84 billboards and 80,000 pins for first time voters produced and distributed
new troubleshooting system introduced to react and address all VAD related matters in a timely manner and to assure an unhindered flow during the voting process
